5 tips for preparing for exams

Posted by Studentbox user

It's exam time and let's face it, that really sucks. Here are some tips we've put together to help you get through it. Check out our Study & Exams section for way more tips and resources.

Tip 1: Keep a reasonable routine of study, relaxation, exercise, food and sleep.

Studying around that clock isn't sustainable. You need to continue to keep a balance. Check out our health tips to make sure you're doing everything you can to after yourself during this stressful time.

Tip 2: Draw up a study timetable.

This helps you to manage your time and visualise when your exams are scheduled for.  You can find tips and download a template on our setup a study timetable page.

Tip 3: Work in short, concentrated bursts and take regular breaks.

You're more productive that way.

Tip 4: Know what to expect from the exam.

How long is it? What sorts of questions will be in there (multiple choice, short answer, long answer)? How many questions are there? How much is each question worth? What content is likely to be included and what's not likely to be?

Get tips on answering multi-choice, short answer and long answer questions in our exam tips section.

Tip 5: Be flexible and adaptable.

Depending on your progress, you may need to revise your study plan to ensure it works better for you.

Got questions or need advice? Just ask, we're happy to help!

Here's a great big GOOD LUCK from everyone here at Studentbox!
