Should I study maths applications or methods for year 11?

Please help for subject selection for next year.

Is methods worth it?

I have studied the higher stream in year 10, but am struggling slightly - do you think I should drop down to applications in year 11?

Thanks for your help :)

Applications essentially cover the stuff you've done in Year 10 again but with slightly more advanced questions/terminology and the stuff you cover in term 1 for methods shouldn't be too hard either; if you find methods hard you should be able to swap out of it before Term 2 anyways.

I would recommend methods as you'll most likely become bored with the syllabus quite quickly if you were in the higher stream.

Methods is worth it. Give it a shot as you also have studied higher stream.

It depends methods unit 1 book for me was hard but book 2 gets easier. Apps deals with everyday maths which you might encounter in the every day world. So the choice is yours. Good luck!

It depends on what uni course you want to do. Some courses require methods but most only requires applications. Also, you get a 10% bonus if you do methods. You might get scaled-down if you do applications.
