Hi, I’m Dan and I’m in my third year of part-time study in Health Promotion and Health & Safety. For those of you who don’t know, health promotion is all about maintaining and improving population health. You’re probably aware of the campaigns around eating 2 fruit and 5 veg; or being Sun Smart – these are both examples of health promotion. The Act, Belong, Commit program is also a great example that was actually was developed from research undertaken at Curtin into people's perceptions of mental health.

Although my course is offered fully online, I choose to study on campus. Curtin’s place activation makes the campus vibrant and lively, and a place I want to be. Making terrariums at a pop-up stall, watching street art works emerging from world-class artists, or cuddles with Curtin’s therapy dog around exam time makes for a great break from study where you can recharge your wellbeing!
